Meet the Artist - Emerald Provenzano

Hey ya'll,

I am a potter based out of the big ole' cheese state, Wisconsin. I'm a stay at home mom, a wife, a sister, and a daughter. Oh man, I currently have the best relationship with life. Nothing has been easy up to this point, but I'm only 29, so we'll see what comes next. I cherish life a lot more than i used to, being home has given me the opportunity and time to focus on my craft. I take on so many different projects, whether that be a commission piece, a painting, upcycling clothing, or drawing up new designs. I'm convinced I can make anything.

Anyways, POTTERY.

After highschool I didn't have the opportunity to continue my craft, nor the money, until a friend I work with gifted me my first kiln. I began again and I had an influx of ideas. I always wanted to make things that were functional, unique and specific to my designs. Inspired by other artists, architecture, wildlife and engineering. No, I never attended college, but there's always ways to learn. I've been busy studying and honing my my skill for the past 7 years. 1,000's of designs, failures, regret, but also so much excitement and success. I have really enjoyed my commission pieces, working with clients has been exceptional, always creating something specific to their desires while adding my own style. Every customer is a blessing because I get to share a piece of myself with them.

I want to apologize for not updating my inventory on this site, the majority of my sales come from commissions and local markets. I have been working on upcycled clothing, linocut prints, bookmarks, new designs, paintings, and of course more pottery. I am always working on something.

My family and creativity are the most important things in my life. I stopped making as much when I was pregnant, but after being blessed with my baby girl, now a year and a half old, I put all of my energy into parenting and creating. I watch my daughter learn and copy every little thing I do. It's been the most fulfilling part of my life so far.

Just for clarification, when you purchase from me, everything is handmade. You assist me with paying bills, paying for materials, energy, specialized, one of a kind designs, equipment, and most importantly, my experience and time.

I appreciate the people that would rather spend their hard earned money on handmade VS. production pieces. Even in this crazy economy, do your best to support local.

I chose Emerald's Elation as my business name because when I succeed I am absolutely elated.

Love you all,
